Tomorrow, Thursday 23 July 2026, the DA will hold a media briefing outside Tambo Memorial Hospital in Boksburg, Ekurhuleni, to address the decision to postpone critical elective surgeries until 2027. This is due to delayed theatre refurbishment, leaving patients to endure prolonged pain and deteriorating health.
The DA Gauteng Health Spokesperson, Madeleine Hicklin MPL, will disclose damning evidence highlighting how long this crisis has persisted despite repeated warnings and concerns raised with the Gauteng Department of Health. She will be joined by the DA Ekurhuleni Mayoral Candidate, Khathutshelo Rasilingwane MPL and the patients who will openly recount how prolonged surgery delays have affected their lives.
