Today, Tuesday, 7 May 2024, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Premier Candidate, Solly Msimanga MPL, will lead a picket outside the Moretele Temba Magistrate Court in Hammanskraal.

The DA will picket in solidarity with the family of a hard-of hearing and speech-impaired 15-year-old girl who was raped.

The family opened a criminal case at the Temba police station.

This case has been postponed on several occasions, making going to court traumatic for the rape victim and her family.

Later in the day, the DA will visit the Itireleng School for the Blind to hand over a copy of the DA’s manifesto in braille.

We are the only party that ensures that all residents have access to key documents that pertain to their well-being in a language they understand.

The media is invited and there will be an opportunity for photographs and interviews.
