The billboard highlights how the ANC and ActionSA spent R777 million on water tankers in their first year in government in Tshwane.
What Lesufi gets wrong, or either chooses to forget, is that the package plant, that would have supplied Hammanskraal with clean drinking water, was nearly completed under a DA government. When we were removed, the ANC and ActionSA failed to complete it.
They did this because protecting water tanker interests was more important than delivering water to residents.
Among the beneficiaries were ANC Tshwane Regional Treasurer Rhulani James Shelenge, and Tshwane Deputy Mayor and ANC Regional Chairperson Eugene Modise, whose linked companies collectively received close to R32 million from water trucking.
Tshwane’s mafia style tender-capture has been thoroughly ventilated at the Madlanga Commission.
The last person that should point a finger, is Panyaza. His hotel shower escapades are well known.
Instead of trying to take the moral high ground, he should look at what his government could have done to help the people of Hammanskraal, and not water tankers mafia bosses.
The local government election is around the corner. The people of Hammanskraal will be able to rid themselves of water tankers. The DA will finish the project we started, and the ANC and ActionSA will be relegated to the opposition benches. Where they belong
