Today, 03 November 2025, the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng will conduct an oversight inspection at the Jumpers Informal Settlement, in Cleveland, East of Johannesburg.
The purpose of this inspection is to assess whether the electrification process at Jumpers Informal Settlement has been carried out in an effective, efficient, and transparent manner. There are also allegations that the contractor responsible for electrifying this informal settlement has abandoned the project.
The inspection will be led by the DA Gauteng Shadow MEC for Human Settlements, Mervyn Cirota MPL, DA Johannesburg East Constituency Head, Dr Jack Bloom MPL, and DA Johannesburg City Ward Councillor, Cllr Neuren Petersen.
The media is invited to attend, and there will be an opportunity for interviews and photographs.
