The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni urges law enforcement agencies to act swiftly to bring Mpho Malofe’s killers to book.

Malofe, who joined the City of Ekurhuleni earlier this year as the Divisional Head for Forensic Audit, was brutally murdered while travelling home from work on Monday evening.

While the circumstances around his murder are unknown, it is highly alarming that he has joined the growing list of other audit professionals who have been slain in the recent past.

We cannot allow for a precedent to be set where certain professions in the public service are seen to be targets of nefarious persons and criminal elements.

Justice must be swift, and the full might of the law must prevail. Anything less is an affront to our democratic institutions.

The DA offers its condolences to the Malofe family and friends during these trying times.
