The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni elected Cllr Brandon Pretorius as the new DA Caucus leader. He follows in the footsteps of party stalwart and former Mayor of Ekurhuleni, Ald Tania Campbell.

The guidance, and leadership Cllr Pretorius has received from Ald Campbell will be invaluable as he takes up the reins of leadership in a caucus that finds itself in a council filled with challenges.

We believe that Cllr Pretorius is perfectly suited for his new role and would like to congratulate him in this new endeavour.

As we look towards the future and building a stronger DA in Ekurhuleni, we also congratulate his fellow Executive Members who were elected into the following positions:

  • DA Ekurhuleni Caucus Chairperson – Cllr Tiaan Kotzé
  • DA Ekurhuleni Caucus Deputy Chairperson – Cllr Bongani Nkosi
  • DA Ekurhuleni Caucus Deputy Chief Whip – Cllr Lornette Joseph

Cllr Pretorius, will in due course, announce his Caucus Chief Whip, and deputy leader.

The DA in Ekurhuleni has a long history of holding the executive to account, and will continue to do so.

The ANC and EFF in Ekurhuleni have diluted the values of the people of Ekurhuleni with corruption and empty promises. A metro of this stature should be a beacon of hope and we are sure that under Cllr Pretorius’ leadership, his caucus will be an effective opposition as we turn our focus to the 2026 Local Government Elections.
