Tomorrow, Tuesday 21 November 2023, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Shadow MEC for Human Settlements, Mervyn Cirota MPL, along with the Shadow MMC for Human Settlements in the City of Joburg, Cllr Strike Rambani, and Cllr Joanne Horwitz, City of Joburg Ward 81 councillor, will conduct an oversight inspection at the Madala Hostel and River Park unfinished housing project in Alexandra.
The DA will assess the living conditions at the Madala Hostel to determine whether there has been progress in fixing this hostel. We will also assess the abandoned, unfinished housing project in River Park to ascertain the progress that has been made in completing this project.
Our residents deserve access to dignified housing, and the delay in completing the upgrades and housing projects means that our residents will continue to live in squalor.
