Self-preservation, not service delivery the reason for Ekurhuleni executive reshuffle

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in the City of Ekurhuleni is not surprised by the addition of the Patriotic Alliance (PA) and National Freedom Party (NFP) to the failing ANC-led coalition in the City of Ekurhuleni.

As the ANC-EFF coalition collapses, it is little surprise that Executive Mayor, Ald. Nkosindiphile Xhakaza would lure smaller parties into the fold to prop himself up.

This move is about self-preservation and has nothing to do with service delivery.

There is no doubt that the PA and NFP have sold out residents for power and that collapsing services and poor governance will remain the status quo under this reconfigured coalition.

As the second largest party in Ekurhuleni, the DA will fight – now more than ever, to hold this Executive to account.

We will fight for every resident of Ekurhuleni who deserves better than what they have received under this ANC-led government.

In the upcoming Local Government Elections, residents will be afforded the opportunity to usher in a DA government that works for the people Ekurhuleni and who will get things done
