DA to conduct oversight inspection at K60 Sunninghill roadway, Chilli Lane, and ClayOven Informal Settlements

Tomorrow, 26 September 2025, the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng will conduct a joint oversight inspection at K60 Sunninghill Roadway, K60 Chilli Lane, and Clay Oven Informal Settlements.

The inspection aims to evaluate the state of K60, a proposed provincial road, and assess the integration feasibility of Rea Vaya and Gautrain linkages between the Midrand and Fourways route. Furthermore, the inspection will assess challenges identified in the informal settlement areas along K60, Chilli Lane, and Clay Oven, including crime, poor service delivery, illegal occupation, poor road safety, overcrowding, and flooding.

The inspection will be led by the DA Gauteng Shadow MEC for Human Settlements, Mervyn Cirota MPL. He will be accompanied by:

• DA Spokesperson for Roads and Transport, Nicole Van Dyk MPL.
• DA Fourways Political Head, Patrick Atkinson MP.
• DA Shadow MMC for Human Settlements Johannesburg, Cllr David Brand.
• DA Ward Cllr Vino Reddy.
