On Monday, 23 June 2025, the Democratic Alliance (DA) Gauteng Spokesperson for Health, Madeleine Hicklin MPL, will conduct an oversight inspection at Ratanda Clinic in Ward 4, Lesedi Local Municipality. The inspection is in response to residents’ complaints about high patient-to-staff ratios, excessive waiting time, and clinic closures due to staff shortages.
Hicklin will engage with clinic management, staff, and patients during the inspection to determine how these reported challenges are affecting the provision of quality healthcare to the residents of Ratanda.
The DA Johannesburg Regional Chairperson, Wendy Alexander MP, will accompany Hicklin in inspecting the clinic as part of the DA’s Healthcare Campaign.
