DA to conduct oversight at Lillian Ngoyi explosion site

Tomorrow, 13 November 2024, the Democratic Alliance (DA) will conduct on oversight visit to the sight of Johannesburg’s newest fresh water attraction, the site of the Bree Street Explosion.

Contractors of the site have been hired and fired, and new ones hired again. Amid this continuous stream of corruption accused contractors the city and provincial government, has amongst other things, promised that the area will be turned into a inner city park, and that the project would have been completed in a year’s time.

That is not only unlikely, but as things stand, seems to be an outright lie. In view of the recent rains and silence by the City on Lilian Ngoyi Street, this oversight will reveal the true nature of things.

Evert Du Plessis MPL, DA Gauteng Spokesperson for Roads and Logistic, Cllr Belinda Kayser-Echeozonjoku, DA Johannesburg Caucus Leader and Cllr Tyrell Meyers, Shadow MMC Transport will be attending the oversight visit.
