Residents of Ward 16, Ekurhuleni, will now benefit from the completion of a second water tower situated at the Dann Road Reservoir upgrade.

This much needed project is the result of a petition submitted by residents of Glen Marais and Aston Manor, which was championed by the Democratic Alliance (DA) in 2014.

While the project ran into delays due the COVID-19 pandemic, this second tower is expected to become operational in June 2025.

Coupled to this secondary water tower, the City of Ekurhuleni has allocated R20 million for the construction of a second reservoir in the 2024/2025 financial year.

These upgrades to the water network in Ward 16 will go a long way to not only meet the current demands of residents in Aston Manor and Glen Marais but will also ensure water security in the face of population growth and urban expansion.

Access to adequate, clean water is a basic human right. The DA is committed to ensuring we equip communities with the infrastructure required to meet their needs and future proof against water scarcity.
