As we commemorate Human Rights Day this year, thousands of Gauteng residents are without clean water and decent housing as decades of corruption and maladministration have left taps dry and many living in squalor across the province.

On Thursday, 21 March 2024, the Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng will host the Human Rights Day rally at Walter Sisulu Square in Soweto. The DA Gauteng Premier Candidate, Solly Msimanga MPL, will deliver the keynote address for the commemoration of Human Rights Day. The event will also include the signing of a pledge among DA provincial, regional, and caucus leaders to fight for collective human rights to rescue Gauteng and restore hope in our province.

The premier candidate will outline how the DA promises to rescue Gauteng citizens from a corrupt and inept administration that has crippled the economy and held the province hostage. It also aims to demonstrate that only electing a competent government at the general election on 29 May 2024, can bring about significant change.

Members of the media are invited to attend, and there will be an opportunity for interviews with the DA leadership and photographs.
