The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng is pleased to announce the outcome of the West Regional Congress, that took place today, 7 October 2023.

Voting for the contested positions took place using the online OpaVote system. This system ensures that voting can be done in a speedy, but reliable manner. These results are consequently the product of an election that was compliant with all the DA election rules and requirements. As presiding officer of these elections, I can therefore say that this election, was in fact, free and fair.

Gauteng is at the very heartbeat of the South African economy and heading into the 2024 Elections the elected West Rand Regional leadership will play a vital role to help rescue Gauteng.
