04 Sep 2023 in Press Statements

The Democratic Alliance (DA) in Gauteng is pleased to announce the outcome of the Johannesburg Regional Congress, that took place today, 2 September 2023.

Elections within the DA use an OpaVote system, designed to ensure that voting is private, fair and open. These results are compliant with all the DA election rules and requirements.

As presiding officer of these elections I can therefore say that this election, was in fact, free and fair.

At the heart of the South African economy lies Johannesburg. This city is crucial as we head into the 2024 elections. Today, delegates decided who will chart the way forward in the Johannesburg region, as is their democratic right.
