The City of Tshwane Mayor Randall Williams this week facilitated a sod-turning ceremony to launch the construction of the Chantelle Housing Project. See pictures here and here.
This project is the second largest social housing project in the country and shows the city’s commitment to providing affordable housing opportunities to its residents.
The beginning of the construction of this housing project marks an important milestone towards creating inclusive communities.
It is a step towards providing dignified housing by bringing affordable housing opportunities closer to economic hubs and employment opportunities.
The City has allocated R131 million towards the project. The DA recognises the determination and efforts of the City of Tshwane in its quest to provide quality affordable housing to its residents.
Everyone has a right to have access to adequate housing and the Chantelle Social Housing Project will go a long way towards realizing this.
