The Democratic Alliance (DA) is excited to announce the appointment of DA Councillor, Daryl Johnston, to serve as the Mayoral Committee Member for Utilities in the City of Tshwane.

Johnston has served as a Ward Councillor for the past four years and fully understands the needs of communities and how the functioning of the Utilities Department directly impacts the day to day lives of the residents of Tshwane.

Cllr Johnston has built a deep appreciation for the ground-level reality of service delivery.

This, combined with the organisational knowledge he gained during the 3 years he spent as DA Whip for the Section 79 Utilities Oversight Committee, allows him to be a champion for service delivery in the Executive.

Johnston also brings 19 years of experience in a business environment, delivering high value tendered contracts to Blue chip companies, on time and within budget.

The DA wishes to thank and show our appreciation, to the outgoing MMC, Councillor Phillip Nel, for his excellent service in this portfolio and respects the decision for him to step down due to health reasons.

The DA is committed to delivering quality services to the residents of Tshwane, we are throwing our full weight behind a Councillor who shares our commitment to the communities we represent.
